Resettlement not satisfactory, says Ranil

CHENNAI: The issue of resettling Tamils in Sri Lanka will be raised in Sri Lankan Parliament next week, said Ranil Wickramasinghe, former Sri Lankan Prime Minister and United National Party leader, said here on Wednesday.
Mr. Wickramasinghe, who was here on a day-long visit, said resettlement by the Sri Lankan government was not satisfactory. Along with Tamil MPs, his party would raise the issue in the Parliament next week.

Every now and then this donkey brays. He is the laughing stock not only of the nation but also of the world. Let him go on braying. He thinks he has a lovely voice and people listen to him. What a fool! He deserves to be hung for high treason one day when the time comes, for signing away our land to the terrorist LTTE, conceding to all their demands. He did so flouting the Constitution fo the country, in an underhand manner, with the assistance of Norway, our arch enemy. When is the UNP going to come to their senses and get rid of this donkey? Are they happy to be led by a donkey?

Hon Ranil Wickremasinghe is one of the last living patriots in Sri Lanka.
Ranil is a traitor for signing agreement to grant eelam for Tamil nationalists without the consent of the Parliament , the President and the nation. It was such an underhand deal even his own cabinet was kept in the dark.Hence the agreement is not valid. This traitor is honoured by DC and his racist Tamil nationalists. He is their hero. The nation has responded with a big ‘no’ to him and a ‘YES’ to MR our true PATRIOT.
I say to DC and his diaspora Tamil nationalists to build a statue for the traitor Ranil in some backyard in a shanty town in France, for all we care.
Ranil is a traitor. He committed high treason when he signed away to LTTE one third of the country and two third of the coast, yielding to all the LTTE demands, with the connivance of Norway, our arch enemy. It was an illegal document, that is why our true patriot MR abrogated it. It was not pormulgated in Parliament, it was not sanctioned by the President, the details of the agreement was not revealed to the nation through the media, it was done in a surreptitious manner. This was high treason. SL is not Ranil’s private hegemony to be given away to our enemy, LTTE. Since then he allowed ship loads of weapons to be brought into the country tax free. This was also an act of high treason. I wonder how much was paid to Ranil for these acts of treachery. There was more evidence of high treason collected from the bunkers of LTTE after the debacle of the LTTE. When is Ranil going to be arrested, tried and hung for high treason, along with the other traitor, SF?
As for DC, he can erect a statue in Ranil’s honour for treachery in the backyard of Nediyavan’s garden in Norway, for all we care, and piss on it daily.

As a follow up to your logic, there should be a very strong, honest and sincere Government in Parliament. Are the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers fulfilling that requirement? Hence, for the sake of the citizens of Sri Lanka, should they all be removed or retired?
Under MR there is a strong, honest and sincere government in SL at last. Great strides are made in the economic development of the country under Mahinda Chintanaya manifesto. There are a few individuals who are blind to this because of their loyalty to opponent parties, who are enemies of progress and enemies of the Motherland, for vested interests. The future is bright for our country and our citizens as ONE NATION.
Look at European Union today. Many countries in EU, including Britain, are struggling with huge budget deficits. They are bankrupt governments being propped up by loans from IMF etc. Mass unemployment, cuts in social servces, heath, education, housing, defence etc. They, along with the imperial USA, are embroiled in an invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, comitting gross war crimes and crimes against humanity. The UNSG is silent about it, because he wants to keep his job. UNSG tries to dictate terms to us and harrass SL with dire warnings of non-existent war crimes etc, at the behest of imperial West, because SL is not dancing to the tune of imperial West, and is assisted by China, Russia and non-aligned countries to develop on a fast track.
There is massive corruption in Britain among politicians, in the mother of parliaments. No criminal action can be taken against the MPs and Ministers because the parliament would collapse and would be the laughing-stock of the world. So the corruption is swept under the carpet and people are made to suffer as the status quo continues.
Whereas under Mahinda Chintanaya our country is blessed with yaha palanaya and a rosy future for all. God bless out Hon President and all thos parliamentarians and citizens who work hard to make Mahinda Chintnaya a success to realize the aspirations of the nation.

Agree with Nicholas too. the question is: Can a nation survive as an entity housing two distinct homelands? Will the sinhala homeland ever reach its potential whilst managing the aspirations of the tamil homelands?
History has demonstrated that people who own their destiny reach their potential quicker. If the sinhala nd tamil people are allowed to own their destinies as opposed to managing each other, each distinct homeland loacted within the shores of the island will reach their potential faster.
Once that potential is reached, a merger can be considered. Eg: United States of America, European Union, Soviet Union, Peoples Republic of China

VP was from Valvettithurai; he came from the “fisherfolks” caste. The “Vellala” caste in the North never really endorsed his actions and/or leadership. The “Vellala” were passive observers of what took place. A vast majority found the situation not to their liking; hence they went overseas in droves.
Karuna and Pillayan come from a “Low” caste as well. Karuna was a strong and “brilliant” warrior. But he had many weaknessess (as we all do) including the love of money and power. This went against the “code of conduct” of the movement. As the noose tightened, he took the easy way out and that is to defect. After that, he wanted to be a “war-lord” in the East; did not succeed and so he joined the bandwagon of you know who. Pillayan was the underling and he happened to be in the right place at the right time. I believe both have not “reformed” and never will do so; to rely of them is courting disaster.
KP is a turncoat; he never had a position in the movement. In the desperate last days, he was given a role because of his location overseas. He did not participate in the movement since late 80′s until the last days.
So Nicholas, if you rely on the rubbish being doled out regarding the last days, you are not worthy of your intellect. There are many who are interested in hiding the truth and hence the mud slinging at HRW and others.

We should not discriminate on grounds of high caste tamils and low caste tamils. Such distinctions are made by Tamils for one lot in the Tamil community to have unfair control over the other lot. So the low caste Tamils are discriminated by the high caste Tamils in marriage, employment, education, health etc. VP considered Jaffna Tamils as high caste and the Baticaloa Tamils as low caste. He conscripted thousands of innocent Tamil children from Baticaloa mostly to be sent to their deaths in the front lines, in trying to realize his pipe-dream. That is what angered Karuna and Pillayan most. So they decided to break-off from the madman with all the Baticaloa LTTE cadres. All this talk of them swindling VP of money is rubbish. The biggest swindler was the uneducated thug, VP himself, who robbed many Tamil parents of their children’s education and lives. He is an evil man on par with Stalin and Hitler. He is in hell with them for all eternity.

You haven’t read my comments. The Tamil Natinalist uprising was lead by “Low” caste people of the tamil community.
All leaders of the LTTE belonged to the “fisherfolks” caste including VP, Karuna and the rest of them.
DC, this is precisely my point. So-called ‘low caste’ Tamils should wage their uprising against discrimination of the ‘high caste’ Tamils. First clean-up your own act. Put your own house in order first. You cannot talk about racial discrimination till you put your own house in order.
There is racial discrimination anywhere in the world. The worst racial discrimination is in USA. KKK in USA against the American blacks is still prevalent in an institutionalised racial discrimination by US police force and army. It is the same in Britain, France and Germany.
Under Mahinda Chintanaya the future is bright for the Tamils, the vast majority of whom have rejected Tamil nationalism, eelam. In Tamil Nadu also, the vast majority has rejected Tamil nationalism.

Thenk you for admitting that racial discrimination is institutionalised in Sri Lanka.
The war crimes issue has now dwarfed the racial discrimination issue.
Before the end of the second five year term, I am confident that all war criminals and genocidal leaders of the ruling class and armed forces will be brought to justice (not necessarily to gaol but see how some people are persona non grata in UK already).
The concept of homelands and a right to self determination will also be enforced.

As usual DC is distorting and twisting my words. I spoke of institutionalised racism in USA, Britain, France and Germany. DC knows it well. If he doesn’t then he should get his brain examined. There is no insititutionalised racism in SL. There is institutionalised caste discrimination within the Tamil community wherever they are, as DC himself has grudgingly admitted. The case of a Tamil man in Canada arrested for trying to kill his daughter for associating with a low caste Tamil is a fine example. DC is a Tamil extremist nationalist who is incapable of accepting that Tamils in SL are Sri Lankans primarily and are happy and proud to be so. DC and the eelamist lobby can cry as much as they like in the West but they will never be able to achieve separtism in SL. Let them do so in Tamil Nadu where there are 70 million Tamils.

Four examples of institutionalised racism in Sri Lanka are
1. The standardisation system which establishes preference to applicants from the districts over a pure merit based system for University admissions
2. The promotion constraints on a tamil public servant who is not competent in the Sinhala language; sinhala public servants who are not competetnt in the tamil language are not constrained.
3. Court proceeding being confined to the Sinhala language where those who are not competent in the sinhala language have to rely on translators
4. Try asking for a postage stamp in Tamil at a Post Office in the South; you will probabaly end up being detained under the PTA!!
This is totally a distrotion of facts by DC.
1. The Tamils have their own Colleges and Universities in the predominantly Tamil Provinces. They are run by predominantly Tamil Vice-Chancellors and Lecturers. Most of the undergrads are Tamil. A certain quota of Tamil students are admitted to Universities in the South for Tamils in the South in proportion to the student population. This is utterly fair. The admissions are based on success at AL and interviews. This is the same as in universities in the West. It is not under the control of politicians whether Tamil, Sinhalese or Muslims. DC is trying cheap propaganda tactics by distorting facts.
2. The same principle applies to public servants. In predominantly Tamil areas the public servants are Tamils. The Official language in these areas is Tamil in practice. The few Sinhalese who live in these areas are expected to learn Tamil and they do so as they have chosen to live among Tamils. Today it is compulsory for new batches of public servants to learn Tamil and Sinhalese languages in both North and South. In India, a Tamil from Tamil Nadu has to learn Hindi, The official language, if he lives in North India, to be able to conduct his affairs in North India.
3. Court proceedings in the Tamil Provinces are in Tamil, while in the South it is in Sinhala. The minority Tamils who live in the South are conversant in Sinhala and have no problems, as in the case of a Tamil from Tamil Nadu living in North India is conversant in Hindi, as official matters are conducted in Hindi, the official language of India.

Hence DC is being silly in raising these issues which are not really problems. Sinhalese living in Tamil provinces learn Tamil to be able conduct their affairs in Tamil if they choose to live in these areas. The same principle applies to Tamils living in the South. It is not a big issue for the Tamils in the South as they have integrated themselves well with the Sinhalese and have learned the Sinhala language. If DC lives in France he will have to learn French to integrate himself with the French. If he lives in North India he will have to learn Hindi, the official language of India.

Thank you Pillayan. I think DC is a high caste Tamil who fled to Canada or UK with the rise of VP. Now safely ensconced in the West he tries to stir-up trouble for the SL Tamils once again through same hackneyed propaganda for Tamil nationalism in SL, which even Tamil Nadu with its 70 million Tamils have rejected.
I taught in a leading Colombo school. Some Tamil students studied in the Sinhala medium though they could have studied in the Tamil medium. They chose this option at the decision of their parents because they wanted to integrate better with the Sinhalese in the South. I admired the courage of these students and gave them free tution on Sundays in their own homes. Most of them were poor. The Sinhalese in the North should likewise study Tamil, the official language in the North, to integrate with the Tamils. I see nothing wrong with it. We then become truly one SL nation which respect and enjoy each other’s rich cultures, to work for the properity of the whole nation, for a better future for all. As one nation we shall prosper better, helping each other to achieve common goals. I helped Tamil students in the South. Likewise, I hope Tamil teachers will help Sinhala students in the North, who may be at a disadvantage because of language barrier.

Students from tamil speaking backgrounds opted to be educated in the sinhala language to beat the institutionalised racism example No 1 that I provided above.
The sinhala nationalist leadership of Sri Lanka have consistently enforced social and cultural genocide on the tamil community since 1948.
DC is a rabid Tamil nationalist. He is too blinkered, as I have said it time and again. He cannot see clearly to accept the truth, that Sri Lanka is ONE NATION, comprising of a healthy racial mix of Tamils from Dravida South India who gradually migrated to SL in the past centuries, and Sinhalese are from Arayan North India who migrated to SL around 6th century BC. Muslims are Moorish traders from Middle East who migrated to SL from around 13th century AD.
Most Tamils in the South have integrated well with the majority Sinhalese by learning the language and the culture of Sinhalese. They have done so through own choice, through prudence, to succeed in life. They also learnt English in order to be able to communicate with the international community. This again is through choice and necessity. They were not forced to study Sinhala and English. Being rabid and blinkered DC sees otherwise. He vomit the same lies and purid propaganda day after day. He is incapable of anything else. However, majority of Tamils know and reject DC’s rabid Tamil nationalism and extremist views.
If DC is living abroad, which I think he is, he will have to learn English if he is living in the English speaking West, in order to integrate with that society and prosper. Nobody has forced him to learn English except necessity. If he is living in France he has to learn French, The same rule applies if he is living in Norway.
He sees the bogey of being forced to learn Sinhala only in SL. This is all lies and false propaganda. of the separatist Tamil nationalists.
