The US and European Union sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka at the UNHRC has been passed with 24 countries voting for the resolution and 15 against it. Eight countries abstained from voting.

I think most of the Sinhalese are misled by the government with regards to this West led resolution.
UN released a report in the beginning; the Sri Lankan government condemned the report, protested whole heartedly. So the UN said alright, why don’t you produce a report let us look at it!
The government was excited and produced their version called LLRC. The rest of the world said, the report is O.K, they even commended Sri lankan on such report even though they felt the report needs to address more things.
Now, the WEST said O.K reports looks good so when are you going to do whatever you promised to do- Do you have a timeline? How are you going to do? Do you have a contingency plan in place? Can we give you some advice? Can we give you some money? Also, west said we would like to see the progress, because it is fair that if you are getting some free advice and donations, we want to see the progress of these said developments. Now the tiger is gone, you need to recognize the urgent need to do something fair to the Tamils.
Why why why …did the Sri lankan government go this far to protest? Spent millions of dollars of your and my tax money to send 54 members Jambo Team, and many many unwanted government protest across Sri lanka. My dear fellow citizens of Sri lanka, our country is bankrupt. Please,,,please I plead with you to see our Inflation rate. Please look at the rupee being devalued every day. My pension is nothing compared to the cost of living. My pensions 60% goes towards my medication. As a country we are in heavy debt. Millions are going to pay the interest on the government loan.
Every day, a different organization goes on strike.. we are in a hell hole.
We need the not only the intervention of UN but most definitely the intervention of God, to bring us out this misery. If our government gives the freedom of the press and Journalism, we mass will be much educated on these issues.
I guess the time has come; the government is not only answerable to its own people but also to the rest of the west.
In view of those 47 countries it’s not a wonder that majority of those 47 countries bending into US. There’s no any asian country against SL but india who made the Ltte terrors..!
So we’re asian countries must make another United Asian Nations organization to take care in asia. F..k off western dominated UN..! Let it to be india along if it wants.!

Sri lanka, is a very small country and has almost nothing to offer to the rest of the world. Please take a mental note. We are not a leader in anything. As per now most of the developed countries of the world has branded us as “Criminals”. They think we are first degree murderers. Human rights violation is a huge brand. We have a big stamp on our face that says we are human rights violators. You know what that means???? Sanction on goods coming in and going out. Sanction on the travel. Our ministers cannot go to these countries…….remember Cuba????

This UN resulation nothing effect or not coming any new changes to srilanka.This kind of UN resulation votes many millioons times against came to isreal,still nobody went enquiring the problem.Every sri lankan very peacefully go ahead normal life for everyday!
IRMA:The president promised Indian foreign minister Krishna NOT just 13 but to add a + (13+).
He said this agreed on it, proclaimed it when the Minister was in Colombo last month.
The very next day when minister Krishna left home, he completely rejected the offer.
Eelam was in the picture for 30 years! Now that is no more.
Give this people the 13+ amendment, let them live in peace in their places called North and East.
Let them run the affairs of the province, police and land. This is a proven effective mechanism across several nations. In the US, every state takes care of their matter- (United States)
Same in the United Kingdom (England/ Wales/ Scotland/Northern Ireland), In Canada- every province run their own affairs independently. India all the provinces run their own affairs.
So why not do the same to Tamils as well. Why differ from these,if that is going to bring peace and prosperity to all the people.
Devolution of power! Let them take care of them. They don’t need a Sinhalese to be a governor of North East. They dont need a person who runs the affair in the majority Tamil speaking area to be a non Tamil or a person who can’t even talk or write Tamil. I am not being a racist, but it is better to allow a person who is emotionally, culturally, by language connected to be the head of their own area. The reason being people are very much comfortable when they deal with their own people.
Don’t you agree it is better than asking for Eelam!!! Scottish has their own identity/ English has their own identity/ Welsh have their own identity. They speak English in their own way, but all under United Kingdom. Try addressing a Scottish as English; he will not be happy, because Scottish is their identity. If government will not listen to Tamils, I think the next step is the UN will intervene and Eelam will be granted by default. Just look at East-Timor –population 1,066,582. Why do you think US and the West- want to talk to TNA, over and over again. They treat them like a sovereign state! Obama,Cameron,Harper personally invites them for talks one on one!!! Because they are the only people majority of Tamils wish to speak/ represent them. A known devil is better than unknown. TNA is heavily backed by Diaspora for sure and that’s the way the Tamils and the west wants it. Just because they ask something legit, don’t brand them as traitors and terrorist. Look, tiger is gone, If you want peace, Hon. Sampanthan is the only one to be engaged. That’s what the Tamils want, that’s what the UN wants, and that’s what the educated Sinhalese wants. When the devolution of power comes to place….North and East will be strong economically well developed by the expatiate Tamils. Funds will overflow from across the globe. New factories, new companies, jobs, it will have a ripple effect.
So a word of advice to Sinhalese….don’t listen to your government because they are clueless about the next step, the government is heavily bankrupt. It is putting a big show to avoid a lot of economic problem that we are currently facing. This government is looting not just Tamils but also Sinhalease.

Why do Sri Lanka has to be in UNHRC? Resolution was passed by only one extra vote than the half. Half the members did not bent to the power and dollars. If it was imposed with the vote of clowns like Uruguay who does not probably know where the SL is located, against the founding principles of the UNHRC whay can not SL walk out of it? I am very glad the SL representative said they would not accept the resolution.
As Sri lanka said, they will not respect and accept this non-binding resolution (or a waste of time) by US, and the whole story ends there along with the party by the LTTE terrorists and their supporters.
It is nice to know that there were 23 spine-full countries who could not be bought by US dollars and also interesting to know that weak India can be bought by US Dollars. Keeping that in mind, one day Sri lanka may be able to buy that kind of cheap India.
Well done Sri lankans by not bending down at the wealthy clowns like US(H)A (United States of Hypocratic America). This whole incident brought the Sri lankans together even more and against the west and also possibly against India. It also strengthed and popularised the President MR. Tha senate in Australia has passed a resolution supporting the US led resolution in the UNHRC. This is unique. The tamil diaspora in Australia is very powerful They hold high up positions in public service and in Health Care and Technology. The Sinhala community in Australia mainly come from lower middle class in SL. They do not have any power or influence. They are happy with their menial jobs. Don’t compare apples wity oranges. Those countries you mentioned that have different states are very large countries where as S/L is such a tiny country. Why should we have to let the monority tamils rule a part of S/L when there are many tamils lioving all over S/L. How many sinhalese live in Jaffna. So why should we have to deivide our country and give the tamils a part when most of the tamils living in Colombo do’t want to go and live in Jaffna.
As for your pension beeing not worth much that is the case all over tha world.Are you blind. Can’t you see al the development happening in the coutry.THer is no gain without pain. The country is recovering from years of terrorism and we have managed to build so many highways and other major projects. We have to get rid of 13th Ammendment by popular demand. It does not suit SL style of govt. It is a sheer waste of money! Local govt through Local Councils is good enough and more effective for SL, as it is a small country unlike India. India is divided into several large States, each with its own parliament, accountable to Central Govt. Tamil Nadu itself is more than treble the size of SL. But it has only one parliament. It has no so-called Provincial Councils. So why should small SL be divided into small bits of Provincial Councils to satisfy India? What a huge expense for us! These politicians who are elected PC members are not best suited for their posts either. How many of them engage in criminal activities!
