The first ever chief minister for Sri Lanka’s Tamil-dominated Northern Province has told the BBC that the central government should stop viewing the north as a “terrorist area”, and must give the province meaningful political powers.

Last month, the Northern Provincial Council passed a motion calling for an international probe into alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka, BBC reports.

If he (and TNA) is not a terrorist or a fully committed terrorist supporter, he may be a brainless monkey.
First he went above the SL government and invited Manamohan Sing to visit ‘His Homeland’. Then they think they can set up on their own flights between Tamilnadu and Jaffna. In the meanwhile he wants He wants SL army out of ‘His homeland’. Unless the monkey has lost his memory and power of reasoning due to senility, he must be aware the LTTE terrorist were trained in TN and weapons flowed from TN to SL over 30 years.
If he came to power as the result of democratic process, he needs to know it is about persuasion, not issuing demands, ultimatums and from the fist day in power making complaints to the white imperialists his kind so reliably served until SL gained independence or hanging to the aunty Jayalalitha’s tities.
He and other LTTE cronies in the TNA need to give some solid assurances to the rest of the people in SL and prove by action that they are not terrorists or supporters of terrorists. A good starting point will be to show as much as Tamils live in all over the SL, Sinhalese and Muslims also can do the same in the north and east without being terrorised and stop plaing to the western media and NGOs with hidden agends of their own.
I hope he has the civility of explaining to the wider population how he became a chief justice in SL, if the Tamils are being discriminated so terribly.

My heart goes out to you. This CM for the NP is a confirmed idiot and in your language, a monkey.
SL has a constitution and that constitution has provisions for provincial governance. The roles and responsibilities of the Provincial Council are embedded in the Constitution.
The GOSL conducted elections in the NP to provide the inhabitants of the NP their constitutional entitlement. The GOSL and the peoples of Sri Lanka did not envisage an idiot (and a monkey) to secure the top seat in the NP and propogate sedition.
We had the son of of TULF leader, Amirthalingam, visiting the President a few days ago. That was a fabulous gesture. The Tamils of Sri Lanka do want to live in Sri Lanka and live honourably. The elimination of gun toting terrorists pave the way for dignified lives of the Tamils, the inhabitants of the NP and EP and all other provinces.
The diaspora and its western vote buyers are out to ruin this opportunity.
Mr Wigneswara is not a Tamil in the true sense. He has never lived in the NP/EP. He has been a “Kolomba Kaaka” living inharmony with his Colombo 7 English speaking Sri Lankan elites. Mr Wigneswaran has never experienced the pain and hrdship undergone by the NP Tamils under the terrorist “regime” of the LTTE dogs.
What rights, what feelings does he have of the NP Tamil common man? Has he ever experienced an LTTE door-knock recrutiting the 13 year old daughter to fight the “enemy”? Does he know, realise or even felt the pain of NP parents who had to part with their sons and daughters to further the “cause” of the World’s most ruthless terrorist? Has Mr Wigneswaran ever had to say goodbye to to a 13 year old lass who was handpicked by the wicked LTTE leader to wear the west and travel to the South to garland an innocent human being?
I am at a loss for words to describe this “bast___” Wigneswaran who is out to wreck the social fabric in the NP.
Vigneswaran is the mouthpiece of the TNA and the diaspora Tamils. During the time of the LTTE he dared not visit the North. He cringed and stayed in the South just like the other majority Tamils. He should be grateful to the GOSL to have held Provincial elections in the N through which he was elected as CM.
This man should be guiding the TNA and Tamil diaspora away from separatist ideology. He should insist on ONE COUNTRY ONE NATION, to build together a strong economy to be enjoyed by all. He should be grateful for the free education he received in SL, that helped him to become a Supreme Court judge in Colombo and the CM in the North. He should consider the good of the ordinary, common, hardworking Tamils in the North and say to the TNA and the diaspora, Enough is enough. No more separatist ideology and talk of Tamil eelam. If you want a homeland for the Tamils, establish it in Tamil Nadu where the population of Tamils is 70 million.”

Please go and check how many time TNA and Vignashwaran has accused SL and its people (mainly Sinhalese) about committing Tamil genicide in Sri lanka and crying to the so called international community to come and investigate. If you think my posting is an insult, on the same scale where would you like to place such actions and people engaged in those actions – including Vignashwaran?
