24-hour water cut to hit several Colombo areas from 8 PM today

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) says a 24-hour water cut will affect several areas in and around Colombo from 8:00 PM today (September 3) until 8:00 PM tomorrow (September 4).

The water supply will be suspended due to essential maintenance work at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant, the NWSDB said.

Accordingly, the water cut will affect Nugegoda, Kohuwala, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soyzapura, Angulana, Indibedda, Katubedda, Kaldemulla, Modara, Koralawella, Egoda Uyana and Katukurunda.

The water supply will also be suspended in Sethsiripaya, Himbutana, Udumulla Road, Maligagodella, Bank Junction Road, W.A. Silva Mawatha, Havelock Road, Kalyani Road, Colombo 06, Hospital Circular Road, Jayanthi Mawatha and Shanthi Mawatha.

The NWSDB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to consumers and requested the public to use water sparingly during the 24-hour suspension.
