Galle Mayor suspended

Galle Mayor Methsiri Silva (UPFA) has been suspended as the Mayor of Galle with immediate effect by the Chief Minister of the Southern province, officials confirmed.
This step has been taken following several complaints against him over corruption and fraud, they said.
