The recording of defence evidence in the special three-judge High Court Trial-at-Bar over the Easter Sunday terror attacks will begin today (August 17) and continue daily.
The prosecution concluded presenting its evidence on August 13, 2026. The court then called upon the 24 remaining accused to present their defence and explained the legal rights and options available to each of them.
The accused later informed the court how they intended to conduct their defence. Some decided to make statements from the dock and call other witnesses on their behalf.
Another group informed the court that they would make statements from the dock without calling any other witnesses.
