Sri Lankan and Indian Army Engineers complete 100-foot Bailey Bridge in Kurunegala

Completed 100-foot Bailey Bridge at Kaballawa in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka

A joint team of Sri Lanka Army Engineers and the Indian Army Engineer Task Force (ETF) has completed the construction of a 100-foot Bailey Bridge at the Kaballawa Bridge site in Kurunegala.

According to the Ministry of Defence, personnel from the 1st Sri Lanka Engineers (1 SLE) worked with the Indian Army ETF on the construction, which began on August 22 and was completed on August 24.

The newly constructed Bailey Bridge is approximately 100 feet long and 17 feet wide.

The bridge is expected to improve connectivity and make travel easier for people in the area.

The Ministry said the successful completion of the project reflected the technical expertise and teamwork of the Sri Lanka Army Engineers and the Indian Army ETF.
