The General Manager of Sri Lanka’s National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has been placed on compulsory leave with pay following preliminary findings of alleged serious misconduct.
The decision was communicated in writing by NHDA Chairman J.K.A. Sirinatha, according to reports.
The letter states that during the period of compulsory leave, the General Manager is prohibited from entering any office or worksite of the Authority.
He has also been instructed not to travel overseas without obtaining permission from the NHDA Chairman.
According to reports, the decision was taken after preliminary findings revealed several alleged acts of serious misconduct by the General Manager in violation of the Establishments Code and the disciplinary regulations of the National Housing Development Authority.
NHDA Chairman J.K.A. Sirinatha said that if the allegations against the General Manager are proven, action will be taken in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.
