President’s dissolution of Parliament is constitutional – AG

The Attorney General has requested the Supreme Court to dismiss all petitions filed against the dissolution of Parliament as the President’s decision is consistent with the Constitution of Sri Lanka.
He said the powers of the President are clear and unambiguous as provided for in the constitution and that the President had done so through the executive powers vested in him.

நீதித்துறை அமைப்புமுறையின் சக்திவாய்ந்த சுறுசுறு ப்பான செயல் பாட்டிற்கு தீங்கு விளைவிக்கும் விதத்தி ல் பல்வேறு குறைபாடுகள், ஓட்டை, உடைசல்கள் உள் ளனவாக உள்நோக்கம் உள்ளவர்களினால் சட்டங்கள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டிருப்பின் மனச்சாட்சிக்கான தீர்ப்புகள் வளங்கப்படுவதற்கு நீண்ட கால தாமதங்களும், இழுத் தடிப்புக்களும் ஏற்படும்.”
