Puttalam election chief transferred

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya decided yesterday to transfer the Puttalam district Assistant Elections Commissioner to Colombo with effect from October 1, the Elections Department said.
This decision was taken following the recovery of marked ballot papers in a classroom at St. Andrew’s College on September 20
Samantha Jayasinghe had been appointed as the new Assistant Election Commissioner for the Puttalam district.
