Sri Lanka condoles loss of lives in MH 17 crash
The Sri Lankan Government conveys its condolences to the passengers and the crew on board the Malaysian Airline flight MH17 and expresses solidarity with those nations whose citizens perished on in the appaling incident. The External Affairs Ministry issuing a statement said “
“It is with profound shock and deep sadness that Sri Lanka received the news of the crash of the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 17 in Eastern Ukraine, which resulted in the tragic loss of many innocent lives, including those of infants.
“The Government together with the people of Sri Lanka convey heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the families of the passengers and the crew who were on board the flight, and express solidarity with those nations whose citizens perished in this appalling incident. The thoughts and prayers of the people of Sri Lanka are with the families of the victims.
“In this hour of grief, the Government and people of Sri Lanka wish that the bereaved family members find the courage and fortitude to come to terms with the irreplaceable loss.”
