Retiring IGP calls on Secretary Defence

IGP Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya yesterday, (16 June) paid his farewell call on Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa at his office.
IGP will leave from his official duties on 17 June 2011.
Dr. Balasuriya handed over his resignation on June 1, admitting responsibility for the misconduct of his subordinates and killing of a Free Trade Zone employee in a clash with the police.
Both officials exchanged mementoes to mark the occasion.
