225 Police Chief Inspectors promoted to ASP rank

A total of 225 Chief Inspectors (CI) of Police have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), says the Ministry of Public Security.
This is the first time in history that 225 Chief Inspectors of Police have been promoted to the rank of ASP at once.
Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekara made this announcement in a statement.
