G.C.E. O/L Begins Today

The Commissioner General for Examinations Anura Edirisinghe said nearly 508,500 candidates are eligible to sit for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination which commences today(13) at 3,804 examination centres Island-wide. He further said that out of them 400,000 are school candidates and 108,500 are private candidates,
The Commissioner General said that guidelines to be followed with regard to the candidates who do not possess identity cards or other documents to prove their identity, have been issued to the Examination Supervisors. Therefore candidates who cannot prove their identity could still sit for the examination
Meanwhile 175 LTTE ex combatants, consisting 130 boys and 45 girls, would be sitting for the examination this year, the Examination Department revealed.
