India to vote against Sri Lanka in UNHRC
PUDUCHERRY: India will vote in support of a US-backed resolution against Sri Lanka proposed to be moved before the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva next month, Union minister in the Prime Minister’s Office ( PMO) V Narayansamy said on Sunday.
Talking to reporters, he said that PM Manmohan Singh has promised to support the resolution against Sri Lanka on war crimes and human rights violations at the UNHRC meeting. Narayanasamy said he along with MPs from Tamil Nadu recently called on the Prime Minister and asked him to extend support to the US-sponsored resolution for holding Sri Lanka responsible for war crimes and to vote against the island nation.
The sentiments of Tamil people are running high after pictures of slain LTTE leader Prabakaran and his son Balachandran were released in the media recently, Narayanasamy said. India was one of the 24 countries that voted against Sri Lanka on human rights violations at the UNHRC meet in March last year. “We called on the Prime Minister and insisted that he support the resolution against Sri Lanka on war crimes. He promised to do so,” Narayanasamy said.
Refuting Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy’s charge that the Union government has not been releasing adequate funds to the Puducherry government, Narayanasamy said the government failed to utilize the plan outlay of Rs 2,750 crore for the financial year 2011-12 and the outlay was revised to Rs 1,664 crore. He said that the government spent only Rs 1,603 crore to press home his point that lack of funds did not hamper the development of the Union territory as much as the poor administrative policies.
He charged that the Puducherry government failed to utilize the entire Rs 146-crore assistance extended by the Union government through the HUDCO. The government spent just Rs 31 crore and returned the unspent money to the Union government.
With regard to the central assistance for undertaking Thane cyclone relief and rehabilitation work, Narayanasamy said the Union government could not release the second installment of Rs 50 crore as the Puducherry government failed to provide accounts for the first installment assistance of Rs 75 crore. Who cares how the puppet India votes. You can support a thousand resolutions but truth will prevail.
Your Congress Government requires the support from Obama Land for your economic survival. So you turn the whole population into lapdogs who are good a sucking the US.
India, watch out. We now have Bodhu Bala Sena which is geared to exert the influence of hallowed Buddhist principles on our all our enemies. We will pick our enemies one by one and target them to the wrath of the trurth and truth will prevail.
Why we worry on India? Are we getting fed by them?
I hope GOSL will not go behind them begging for their vote.
If anyone have seen frankly about the developments GOSL did in north, they will vote. Don’t beg for votes.

“The sentiments of Tamil people are running high …..”
Well if that is a valid point to India, please remember the sentiments of Sinhalese people is also running very high against India acting against Sri Lanka since the creation of Tamil Tigers by Indian Government.
Therefore India also has to accept “sentiments of Sinhalese people” in Sri lanka when decisions made by Sri Lankan government to satisfy Sinhalese people and do not go as India wishes.
One good example is the 13th amendment. Sinhalese sentiment is running very high against it and India has to accept it just like they accept Tamil sentiment in Tamil Nadu.
Fully agree with Manjula, I wonder why GOSL is dragging its feet over removal of the 13th Amendment. Hon Mahinda Samarasinghe should announce this intention at the ongoing UNHRC sessions in geneva and provide a timetable for the required constitutional amendment.
Manjula and Padukka,
Not only repeal the 13th amendment abolishing all provincial councils but GSL should consider breaking diplomatic relations with India.
Look what they are doing to innocent pilgrims including Senior Citizen Hon Karu Jayasooriya. They are throwing stones at our establishments in Chennai including airline offices.
I am sure 99.9% of the poulation will support economic sanctions against India. It is time we acted decisively on these matters.

Indian central government don’t have choice as they beg for their votes with TN politicos. Same like SL.

Manjula says India has to “accept” sentiment in Sri Lanka on the 13th Amendment.
The Indians do not have to accept anything. The Constitution is ours and our 22m people lead by the Sinhala Buddhists shall do what they like with their constitution.
The 13th amendment is a burden to our Snhala Buddhist State. It increases layers of redundant administration, a redundant step of intermediate political leadership and opportunity to Ealamists to dream of running “their” province with land and police powers.
The Rajapaksa leadership demonstrated an unflinching approach to elimination of terrorism; as a result the winners were not only Sri Lankans but the entire World population.
It is time for the Rajapaksa leadership to unflinchingly demonstrate to the World, the Sri Lankan resolve of the Sinhala Buddhist population to live in peace by removing all impediments to unquestionable superiority of Sinhala Buddhist domination. The 13th Amendment should be struck down fortwith.
