There are no arrangements in place to name a Prime Ministerial candidate from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) thus far, the President’s Media Unit said on Tuesday.
Issuing a statement, the media unit further stated that a suitable candidate will be appointed if the SLFP led UPFA wins the General Election.

I just cannot understand how low a man can get. Here is a former president who was yielding immense power when he was the president, and now he wants to contest as an ordinary person in the forthcoming elections. How can a CEO step down and work with the other colleagues, when he as the CEO controlled them. It is a shame. There is no self respect. On this issue itself, people should discard him, knowing that he just want power and nothing but power. Just imagine what will happen, if he looses the election. Can he face the public? It is crystal clear that all those MPs who are supporting him, come what may, are people who have something to hide from the public and the Law.
People want MR back and there is no shame that him contesting as long as people are willing to vote him besides there is none within the party who is as strong as him who true Sri Lankans expect. He was expelled as a result of a western conspiracy and now people have realised it and they desperately need a proper strong leader to take over and lead the country.
