Mahinda Samarasinghe to resign from parliament to take up new post

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP from Kalutara District, Mahinda Samarasinghe is set to resign from parliament.
According to reports, Samarasinghe is expected to take up a new post as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States and Mexico.
The Ambassador’s post fell vacant with the retirement of Ravinatha P. Aryasinha last week.
