Over 39,000 people hit by water shortages amid dry weather in Sri Lanka

More than 39,000 people in Sri Lanka have been affected by water shortages caused by the prevailing dry weather, according to the National Disaster Relief Services Centre.

The dry weather has so far affected several districts, including Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi.

Steps are being taken to distribute the required water to people affected by the shortages.
