Suspect shot while trying to flee

A suspect who was produced in the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court from the Welikada Prison had been shot by Prison guards a short while ago, while trying to flee, Police said.
The man had sustained three gunshot injuries and was admitted to the Kalubowila General Hospital, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.
The suspect was an accused in a robbery case.
