Tense situation reported at Mahara Prison

Four inmates were killed and twenty four others were injured during the tense situation at the Mahara Prison.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a team of Police Special Task Force (STF) has been deployed to control the situation.
The Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya stated that prison officials opened fire to control the situation.
