PROBE BEGINS ON STUDENTS WHO CHEATED AT GCE O/L EXAM
The Department of Examinations said that investigations will commence into allegations against certain students suspected to have cheated at last year’s GCE Ordinary Level examination.
“Investigations will be carried out by officers of the special investigations unit of the department of examinations. Investigations are to be carried out by the department of examinations based on complaints received by invigilators and those in charge of marking answer scripts,” said Anura Edirisinghe, Commissioner General of Examinations.
He added that around 6000 exam candidates across the island, have been charged with cheating at the exam.
The commissioner said that those who will be able to prove their innocence of these investigations, will be exonerated from the charges leveled against them.
