Degree for Farmers

Agriculture Minister Chamal Rajapaksa stated that they will work towards awarding a degree in collaboration with the University of Colombo to thousand farmers who are undergoing training at the Weligatha Tissue Cultivation Center in Hambantota.
The Minister made this observation at a ceremony held at the Agrarian Services Center, Malabe to distribute equipment for the cultivation of neglected paddy lands.

Really Great , the Dearest and the eldest of the ruling dynasty , you have hit on a Super Idea to place our farmer community on a very high pedestal.. Sometime back , I think during JRJ,s time we had ” Govi Rajas” (
Farmer Kings) being paraded and crowned in the village fields. Now in future we will have a set of farmers with a BSc tag on their lapels proudly stepping in to their paddy fields to the tumultuous cacophony of the long yellow legged white storks. Of course there will be a few of them being absorbed as lecturers or demonstrators in some university.
