Bribery DG resigns

Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickramsinghe had tendered her resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena today.
It was reported a few days ago that a high-ranking official of an independent institution is expected to resign soon after some recently gave wrong interpretation about the institution when it was performing a difficult job with regard to eradicating corruption.

Another super patriot who was effectively tackling bribery and corruption not only in the previous regime but in the current regime as well, down the drain.
This is what we, the citizens of Sri Lanka, get when we elect top leaders who are ‘uneducated’ and ‘untested’ and ‘unreliable’ and ‘stupid’.
I hope the UNP sector of the Yahapalana Government, hand in hand with the JO (and TNA & JVP), begin impeachment proceedings against the nincompoop who sits on the throne.
I am shocked beyond disbelief having believed absolutely on the Rainbow Revolution lead by the ‘last remaining patriots’, RW and CBK on 08 Jan 2015.
What do you expect? Police, CID, FCID have direct influence from UNP. SLFP President attacked FCID for arresting Gota & other admirals. What he says is, these incidents took place without informing his office.
It is about time to get experienced expatriates ( not the qualified cleaners and road sweepers) to form a meaning full goverment that delivers law and order as a priority.
Why should law enforcement authorities entrusted with the noble task, inform political leaders of activities related to apprehension of lawbreakers?
If persons are plotting to overthrow the government through unlawful means and/or pose a threat to the well-being of politicians (or any other citizen), the law enforcement agency should keep political leaders and/or citizens informed.
The appointment of top officers in all Government Agencies are undertaken via a process which is linked to the elected leaders. The Agencies are managed by Independent Commissions, again appointed via a process linked to elected leaders.
Let not only the law enforcement agencies but all other agencies including parastatals undertake the tasks assigned to them independently, in a professional manner. The heads of these agencies are responsible for outcomes of the activities of the agencies and parastatals.
Please politicians, hands off the commendable work that is being undertaken by the law enforcement agencies. Give them all the support and encouragement but don’t expect a list of criminals apprehended and charged (eg: Wele Suda) to be provided for political review and approval.
We, the true and patriotic citizens of this land would like to see not only gun-runners behind bars but also, young men who smash glass doors and security guards in public places, spend a couple of months in prison.

I am shocked that you call RW the remaining patriot. The crooked, lying cunning RW is not a patriot he is a greedy human being who should have given up politics long ago. If he remains in the helm for long he will allow the separate state that the LTTE has been trying to have for a long time. MR and Gota are not only patriots they are heroes who gave Sri Lankan’s the freedom to walk the streets of Sri Lanka without worrying about getting blown to pieces. Or have you got a memory problem like a lot of ungrateful Sri Lankans .
What is there to commend a bunch of idiots who keep taking people in for questioning not once not twice and go on for years without making any allegations stick so that the persons they are targeting can be sent to jail once and for all. It is quite clear that this is nothing but a case of revengeful, vindictive acts prompted by the leading puppets at the top. What tele drama it has been from the day these jokers were elected. It has been such a long time since they came in to power but they still keep blaming every thing that does not work on MR and co. The reason they were elected because the people were told that Yaplanaya is history so why don’t they forget MR and do what they have to do.
This carry in will go on and on for 1000 of years. So corrupted I don’t think that they will come out of it.
