CID to question Tissa about Ranil – Maithri pact

Former United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Tissa Attanayake will be questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (30) regarding the statement of a secret agreement between UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Presidential Candidate Maithripala Sirisena.
According to the Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana, the CID had made an appointment with Minister Attanayake to take a statement from him today.
UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had complained to IGP N. K. Illangakoon that the document produced by Attanayake, alleging that it was a part of the secret agreement, is a fabrication. Therefore, the CID recorded Wickremesinghe’s and Sirisena’s statements about the incident.
The CID has decided to consult graphology (hand writing) experts and has appointed a special team to conduct investigations.
