Face masks not mandatory in public places from today

Wearing Face masks will not be mandatory in public places in Sri Lanka with effect from today (April 18), Minister of Health Channa Jayasumana said.
However, wearing Face masks continues to be mandatory when travelling in public transportation and when at indoor events.
The wearing of face masks had been made mandatory since the outbreak of the coronavirus in 2020.
