Foreigner killed in confrontation

A foreigner was killed during a confrontation with several locals inside a hotel in Tangalle, police media spokesman Ajith Rohana said.
His wife was also critically injured during this confrontation. The victim had tried to intervene to stop a brawl between two local factions resulting in his death. The cause of death is yet to be established.
No suspects have been arrested so far and the Tangalle police are conducting further inquiries to arrest the suspects who had runaway from the scene of crime.
