Four family members murdered in Wennappuwa

The police have launched an investigation in connection with bodies of four members of the same family which were recovered in Nainamadama area in Wennappuwa.
According to the office of the Police Media Spokesperson, two children are among the victims.
The bodied were recovered as a result of intensive search operation launched by the Crime Unite of the Wennappuwa police, this afternoon (1).
Police say that the hands and feet of the victims were bound and thereafter, their bodies had been dumped into a pit containing coconut husks.
The deceased have been identified as Punya Kumari Wijesinghe (49), a female doctor of the Lunuwila Base hospital, her husband Nalin Hettiarachchi (53) who is a businessman, her 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter.
