Interim Budget 2015 passed

Second Reading of the Budget 2015 was passed with a majority of 163 votes with only one member voting against it.
Independent MP Ajith Kumara voted against the Interim Budget.The budget proposal was presented by Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake on January 29.

The almost unanimous passing of a largely fair and practical national budget in parliament hopefully heralds an end to the scourge of divisive politics and a welcome era of constructive co-operation and genuine national interest.
