Jobs for graduates soon after parliamentary poll, says President
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said graduates will be given job appointments the next day after the August 5 parliamentary election.
He made these remarks while responding to a graduate in Ratnapura on Sunday.
The President who met with the public at Ambilipitiya, highlighted that graduates are the cream of any nation, and are the most important part of any sector.
“But there is no use if graduates fail to work towards developing the country’s economy,” he said.
President Rajapaksa who attended a rally at the Godakawela Pradeshiya Sabha Stadium said pepper is to be promoted as an export crop to generate more revenue.
He also looked into the requests made by the locals, about the construction of a crematorium and the issue about traditional lands adjacent to the Sabaragamuwa Saman Devalaya.

Why the next day after election?
Why not before the elections if the country really needs the 100,000 graduates and has the money to pay them?
Something fishy here !!!
Next day after election . because the Election Commission stopped those appointments to Graduates ! these days no jobs can be given in the government sector …
Jobs for graduates doing what?
Ranjith,
Graduates are to be employed for doing nothing like the rest of public service.
The 100,000 graduates will get luxury car permits too.
May be cultivating paper.
Lanka,
The Election Commission stopped the recruitment because all jobs in Sri lanka, public service and private sector, are given not on the basis of CV’s or merit but to those who are sponsored by Ministers and MP’s.
Avlis de Silva. Jobs from thin doing nothing and free luxury cars . where does the money comes from to pay these cram the book and passed the exam, stupid Sri Lanken graduates. ? In this world you want get anything for nothing.
Why can’t the government be truth full and say this is a hand out or a benefit and asked them to to stay at home.
It is almost like begging.
Recruiting graduates to public sector is the easiest way to bestrode the country.
