One killed and three injured in head-on collision

A three-wheeler and a van collided head-on on the Matale road in Galewela killing one person and injuring three others, police stated.

The trishaw was travelling from Galewela towards Matale when it collided with a van heading in the opposite direction.

A 16-year-old boy, who was a resident of the area, was killed in the incident.

The trishaw driver and two others travelling in it were admitted to the Madipola and Matale hospitals with injuries.

The van driver was arrested following the incident and will be presented before the Dambulla Magistrates’ Court today. (Ada Derana)
