PHI clubbed to death while on duty

A Public Health Inspector (PHI) attached to the Thambalagamuwa area was clubbed to death this morning when he went to inspect a house
The PHI identified as Mohomed Faleel was in charge of the Siraj Nagar Grama Seva Division and had visited a house in order to inspect it.
The suspect who is said to be mentally unsound had opened the gate for the PHI when he was requested to do so and then attacked the PHI with a large pestle.
The Thamabalagamuwa Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
