Sri Lanka restricts import of gold above 22 carats as jewellery

Sri Lanka has issued a Special Gazette Notification restricting the import of gold above 22 carats as jewellery.
State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said in a twitter message that the decision was taken to prevent gold smuggling.
