This is shocking news. President Mahinda Rajapaksa ordered, without losing a second, the IGP Illangakoon to carry out investigations and apprehend the killers. But nothing has been achieved. the Police force will now look at their list of drug addicts and bring one to the courts.
The IGP should be replaced without any delay. The men in the Police force cannot apparently do the job they are paid for. Like the Peoples Bank, the President should straightaway appoint an efficient person to the IGP post to stop the rot in that department.
