US rejects Minister Gunaratne Weerakoon’s bribe allegations

The US Embassy in Colombo rejected the allegations by Minister Gunaratne Weerakoon that he was offered a ‘bribe’ by outgoing US Ambassador Michele Sison.
When enquired about the matter, US Embassy said that the allegations were baseless and they reflected a fundamental misunderstanding of their engagement with senior government officials and their policy towards Sri Lanka as well as the U.S. political and economic system.
It also said the Ambassador Sison met with President Rajapaksa, Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris and other senior government officials this week, and they congratulated her on strengthening their bilateral relationship.
Resettlement Minister Guneratne Weerakoon had told a political meeting in Aranwela recently that he was offered a ‘bribe’ by outgoing US Ambassador Michele Sison and he had recordings of the discussion.

GW should release the taped conversation through the electronic and print media to reveal to the world the corruption of US administration and their attempt to topple Hon MR.
I am convinced the traitor Maithripala was given a huge bribe in dollars plus other promises such as free education for his kith and kin in USA, a bribe he can’t refuse.
Are you mad? MR & his relations are the biggest thieves at the moment in sri lanka
The culprit Michele Sison did not reject this allegation, only the US embassy issued the notice. All Sison’s secret work is not disclosed to embassy staff and even if she does, there are strict protocols to issue statements denying any wrong doing. US is all about lies, that is their culture.
I think, GW must be waiting for Sison to reject the allegation so he can release the recordings to the world. It is a wise move by GW. I am sure Sison got stuck in deep mud.
I am more than convinced that huge bribes were offered to many people to blindly cross the side against MR. US is always in the dirty end and wants to destroy Sri Lanka, like what they did to Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt and Syria. Their latest trick is to get the locals to do the dirty work for the US and they do it by using money.
This is an election to measure the wisdom of Sri Lankans. This election will certainly tell to the world whether Sri Lankans are poor fools who will pull their pants down for money, or they are poor but very wise and intelligent people who are full of memories and self-pride who cannot be bought for money.
