Wheat flour price increased by Rs. 17 per kilogram

Prima and Serendib have increased the price of wheat flour by Rs. 17 per kilogram with effect from today (August 29, 2026).

The price increase has been introduced by the two major wheat flour suppliers in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee of the All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association is scheduled to meet on Monday (August 31) to discuss the impact of the higher wheat flour prices.

Association President N.K. Jayawardena said the committee will decide at the meeting whether the prices of bread and other food items should also be increased following the flour price hike.
