Johnston granted bail in assets declarations cases

UPFA MP Johnston Fernando has been granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate over cases filed by the Bribery Commission for failing to submit assets declarations.
On November 27, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed 5 cases against the former Minister for failure to declare assets between 2010 and 2014.
When the cases were taken up today, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya ordered the suspect released on cash bail of Rs 10,000 and personal bail of Rs 1 million per each case.
He also barred Fernando from leaving the country and said that if the need arises he should seek permission from the court before traveling overseas.
The case is to be taken again up on April 27, 2016.

Today, I am proud to say that I am ashamed of being a citizen of Sri Lanka which is governed by a Parliament full of grinning idiots.
