Akuressa PS Chairman arrested on child molestation charges

The Chairman of the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested over allegations of molesting a 14 year old girl in an incident which allegedly took place between March 23 and 30, police stated.
The Children and Women Bureau of Matara conducted the arrest of PS Chairman Saruwa Liyanage Sunil early this morning (July 4).
Police stated that the suspect will be presented to the Matara Magistrate court later today.
