Gale hits Matara

A gale blowing at a speed of about 40km per hour has caused havoc in the Matara area. A number of trees in homes and on the roadside which has resulted in damages to several homes and commercial establishments. Three persons were injured and taken to the Matara Hospital, while ambulances have been sent by the hospital to persons requiring assistance. The power supply in the areas has come to a standstill.
