Killing of Monk: Moratuwa Deputy Mayor arrested

The Deputy Mayor of Moratuwa Municipal Council has been arrested in connection with the killing of a monk, police said.
The Chief Buddhist monk of the Sunandopanandaramaya Temple in Egoda Uyana, Moratuwa, was stabbed to death last night over a land dispute.
The two main suspects of the murder were found shot dead in Bandaragama area this morning.
It is reported that there had been a long standing dispute between the monk and two men who were illegally living on the Temple land.
The monk who had already filed a case against the two men had yesterday again lodged a complaint at the police station regarding the dispute.
