Maithri makes deposit; Contests under ‘swan’

UNP MP Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe paid the cash deposit at the Elections Secretariat a short while ago on behalf of Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena for the January 8 Presidential Election.
Mr. Sirisena will contest on the New Democratic Front (Nawa Prajathanthravadi Peramuna) ticket under swan symbol.

Mr.Maithreepala will definitely win.
In last election Sarath Fonseka 40 laks roughly and Rajapakse 58 laks. But it was just after war and therefore many people voted for Rajapakse and also Hela-Urumya also with Rajapakse.
For Mr.Maithreepala’s victory only need to change 10 laks which is very possible. The Maithreepla faction, Hela-urumaya and fractions of Samasamaja and communist can definitely can do it.
But we hope Muslim congress and Tamil alliance will join with Mathreepala group soon.
I disagree with the analysis in Blog 1.

With the departure of the Hela Urumaya, MR will travel further to reduce military presence in the Peninsula. MR has accommodated Karuna and Pillayan in high posts.
The 40 lakhs gained by opposition in 2010 will reduce to36 lakhs and MR will receive a boost to 62 lakhs.

I’m still having fishy thoughts on this campaign. Will this still happens?
I feel there will be some unknown result to be seen in near future.
May be election might call off, or may be he will revert back his decision on contesting.
Could be a dream.
But I don’t see much impact on government reactions still. This still have power and president still holding executive orders.

Amden, I am a SLPFer from generation to generation. Even my great grandmother voted for Banaranaika. I am not an opportunist like you. Even today I am among Mihinda front but spying and helping Maithreepala group.
I can’t tolerate Rajapaske regime’s mass corruption.
You can see the results of my analysis on January 9. But as Niyamasinhalaya says Rajapakse can withdraw the election.
He is a shameless man, as Tilvin said yesterday in Nugegoda rally. !!.
