In a hard-hitting letter to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, President Maithripala Sirisena said that even if the UPFA wins the general election, Mahinda Rajapaksa won’t be appointed Prime Minister.
Sirisena ought to read, if he can read what little is written in the Constitution and he ought to implement what is in the Constitution. If Rajapaksa was corrupt then irisena is a party to it for he was rhe SecretRY to the party and member of the cabinet and if Rajaksa is guilty then Sirirsena is just as guilty
Does this person know what he is saying?
The constitution is specific on who the president should invite to form Government following a parliamentary elections. Does this constitutional requirement preclude Mahinda Rajapaksa from being invited to form a Government if UPFA gains the highest number of seats?
A shocked nation watched Ranil Wickremasinghe taking oaths as the Prime Minister on 09 Jan 2015. It was literally done in the darkness of the night in the Independence Square by a judge who was not a Chief Justice.
The biggest travesty is that RW was sworn in as a PM when the incumbent was still in office. For that matter, even after 7 months of Yahapalanaya, the citizens of Sri Lanka are not aware of MR’s cabinet and other Ministers’ eventual resignation or removal.
These are dramas.
Why he sends a letter to someone and publish to others?
Intention is clear, this is not writing to MR, writing to people who like to vote him.
We can clearly see that president is a coward with this act.
Some people see this as a great work, but very cheap work for a president of a country.
Do we send letters to anyone and update in every where?
This is what is called (as he said) ‘MAINTAINING NUTRALITY’ in the general election.
The goon is obsessed with one man. What is the meaning and objective of this letter and giving it the publicity, when the election has not been held yet and MR still to be elected as an MP.
He does not know, does not understand, it is irrelevant the seniority or how long one had been hogging there, what matters is the leader should be a one who can lead, have charisma, experience – if proven better- , and who the public want. He is criticizing MR’s dictatorship and tying to rectal feed Sri Lankans his choice.
OH! democracy, and the self-declared defender of the democracy, PLEASE GO AND ASK THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE PARTY THAT GET THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF SEATS OF THE PARLIAMENT WHO THEY WANTS AS THE LEADER OF THE PARTY AND THE PRIME MINISTER. THEN INVITE HIM TO FORM THE GOVERNMENT. THAT IS THE DEMOCRATIC WAY, THAT HAS BEEN THE TRADITION AND THE WAY IT WAS DONE SINCE PARLIAMENT CAME TO EXISTENCE.
STOP FEEDING SRI LANKAN PUBLIC YOUR CLAP-TRAP.
IF MR HAS DONE WRONG ILLEGAL THINGS, TAKE HIM TO THE COURT, PROVE IT BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT AND LET THE JUDGE DECIDE THE SENTENCE. STOP EXHUMING DEAD BODIES FOR ELECTION WIN, THAT IS DISGUSTING.
I am sick to death after reading half of this letter. This axxxxle should leave the party and start wiping Ranil’s axx. What a traitor…
