Ranawaka does not greet President
UNP MP Champika Ranawaka did not greet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa when the latter arrived at the chamber of Parliament to deliver his government’s policy statement to inaugurate the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament yesterday.
When the President was escorted to the main chair by Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando and his Deputy, the MPs and Ministers on both side of the well stood up from their chairs to welcome the President and they were seen joining their hands to greet the President.
However, MP Ranawaka, who is on bail following his recent arrest, only got up from his chair but refrained from greeting the President.
The other MP on bail, Dr Rajitha Senaratne, was absent yesterday.

Good on You Mate;
Champika, I am a Tamil and I admire you as politician and a Leader.
And I admire you because you admire this Chinglam politician, although a skunk, as eelamists don’t admire Chingalam politicians. Btw, are you practising to sing national anthem in Chingalam soon? I bet you are my dear patriot!
This bastardly act of cowardice in the Supreme House of legislation speaks volume about this guy’s culture and his upbringing .
I strongly feel that his name is badly misspelled . Letter ‘ i ‘ in his first name should be replaced by letter ” u “and the letter ” w ” with ” p ” in his surname..
If he is fearless and bold he should have stuck to his guns and be seated to be acclaimed as a Hero.

MrThuleepan Somasundaram. I thought you are a Sinhalese so far from your name. Thanks for putting me right.
That is why his parents aptly named him as ” Cham Paka”. They must have seen the character of little Cham paka.
