Second anniversary victory parade live on May 27

Elaborate arrangements are being made to celebrate the second anniversary of the war victory under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa on May 27 at Galle Face Green. The National Victory Parade jointly organized by the Defence Ministry and the military will be broadcast live on television and radio channels on May 27 from 8.45 am.
A large number of security personnel of Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Civil Defence Force and STF would participate in the Victory Parade.
The President will pay the nation’s tribute to the war heroes at the war hero memorial built near the parliament in the evening of the same day.
Yesterday, Sri Lanka declared the month starting May 19 to June 19 as the Ranaviru Month and the first Ranaviru flag was pinned on President Mahinda Rajapaksa in remembrance of those who laid down their lives for the country.
