Six individuals sentenced to death

The Kegalle Provincial High Court sentenced to death Wednesday, six individuals who were found guilty of committing three murders. The death sentence was handed down by Judge Menaka Wijesundara.
Indictments were filed against the individuals for three murders which took place in the Aranayake and Ruwanwella areas. Four individuals were found guilty of murdering a police constable in the Aranayake Police Division on March 29, 1994.
The two other individuals were found guilty of two murders which took place in Ruwanwella in 1999 and 2000.
