Social media platforms, including the Facebook, which were blocked last week, would be accessible by Friday morning, Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando said today.
He said President Maithripala Sirisena had instructed to lift the ban on social media.
He said that a group of officials from the Facebook Inc. would arrive in Sri Lanka on Thursday to meet Government officials to discuss the situation.

Harin,
You are an ars***** mate.
Why the hell did you agree with Sillysena to block FB and Twitter?
Harin, You are a Minister, mate and you couldn’t do anything about Sillysena’s FB ban.
Mate Harin, if you have any b***** and a p**** mate, you would have resigned your portfolio by now.
Harin, you are a terrible disappointment, my dear friend.
I know that the general public was happy when you blocked FB during the commotion. You could have posted some things that could have negated the inciting data instead. Your UNP member came on TV and said that ,the public was using vile language on the leadership. ? Are you serious? He is lucky it is just vile language! We are livid with the gamarala for blocking websites and FB etc
