Sri Lanka, Australia sign agreement to counter human trafficking
Posted in Local News
Sri Lanka and Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) enabling a closer cooperation to counter human trafficking in the region, the Australian High Commission in Colombo said in a statement.
The MoU, inked on Thursday, will facilitate the return to Sri Lanka of people who are involved in human trafficking activities.
It also paves the way for enhanced information sharing on methods for tracking, intercepting and investigating smugglers.
The MoU was signed by the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection Secretary Michael Pezzullo and Sri Lankan Secretary for Defense Kapila Mudantha Waidyaratne.

The Australian taxpayer’s dollars will be better spent in:
1. seeking the extradition of the Australian Citizen, Adele Balasingham, now domiciled in the UK, and trying her for crimes against humanity; eg: training LTT women fighters and ceremoniously tying Cyanide capsules around the neck of LTT fighters
2. Pursuing the corruption investigations against our lily white leader in the alleged bribery related to an engineering consultancy; the company in question sacked its local head (an SL citizen) for drawing a sackful of money from an ATM in SL Rs from company account for an unknown purpose.
