Sri Lanka’s official reserves rise to US$6.59 Billion in July 2026

Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets increased by US$133 million to US$6.591 billion at the end of July 2026, according to provisional data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

This was an increase of about 2.1% from the US$6.458 billion recorded at the end of June.

The value of Sri Lanka’s gold reserves also increased by US$1 million, rising from US$191 million in June to US$192 million in July.

The CBSL said the July official reserve assets figure includes proceeds from the swap arrangement with the People’s Bank of China, which is subject to conditions on its usability.
