Unity Plaza on fire

A sudden fire has erupted in Unity Plaza shopping complex in Bambalapitiya this morning.
Police Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the fire was extinguished with the support of the Colombo Fire Brigade and the Bambalapitiya police, within few hours.
The fire has occurred in the seventh floor of the building at around 7.00a.m. According to the Police this floor has been used as a warehouse for computer hardware.
No casualties were reported in the incident. A team from the Government Analyst’s Department will visit the complex for further investigations tomorrow.
