UNP decides leadership shouldn’t be changed immediately

Majority in UNP Group and Working Committee have decided there is no need for a change in party leadership at this moment says Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
Meanwhile, an advisory committee comprising eleven ministers and three MPs have been appointed to provide recommendations to make changes in UNP higher ranks, Kariyawasam added.
The 11 member-committee has been given more powers than both the Working Committee and the Parliamentary Group.
Navin Dissanayake, Ajith P. Perera, Harin Fernando, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Eran Wickremeratne, Ruwan Wijewardene, Mangala Samaraweera and Ranjith Madduma Bandara are some of the members of the new committee.

Yes we all want to keep our jobs irrespective to what will happens to this poor wounded country.
Brother Ranjth these guys are dancing on the grave of mother Sri Lanka. They do not want to ‘rock the boat’.
If Ranil leaves then others like Akila, Malik, John, Kabir, might not have their luxury. Same goes to the Yahapalana government as well. Another vision is that once he goes, UNP will shrink as well.

Yes Maaraya UNP is shrinking. That is for sure. UNP has to change the leadership, infuse new blood, invigorate and move ahead. UNP is a great party formed by DS. They had great project such as Galoya, Mahaweli, Fre Trade zone, etc. But the current leadership depends on selling assets, making enemies within SL, and making international community happy.
