Father arrested for murder of children

A man(35) has been arrested over the alleged murder of his daughter(7) and son(3) in Meeoyawatta, Yatiyantota, Police said today. The bodies of the children were found hanging at their line house and the father was arrested with multiple cut wound believed to be self inflicted while attempting to commit suicide.
Police were tipped off by a call to 119 emergency line at approximately 2.08am. Police say that the father who had suspected his wife who is employed abroad of having an affair with another man had in his rage murdered his children and attempted suicide.
